Signature Programs

Experiential Education

Through our experiential education programs, students encounter the world in a variety of locations, near and far. These experiences support classroom learning, while providing unique opportunities that enhance students’ education as a whole.
 
The following signature programs immerse de Toledo students in intensive experiences that extend education beyond the classroom and into students’ lives.

Programs

  • Ninth Grade

    Brandeis, CA

    The three-day ninth grade retreat promotes bonding and introduces incoming students to their classmates, faculty, and school culture before the start of the school year.
  • Tenth Grade

    Brandeis, CA

    Students receive hands-on instruction on triage and
    first aid. The students play the roles of rescuers and victims in a realistic disaster scenario during which they bond as a grade and make lifetime memories.
  • Eleventh Grade

    American South

    11th graders journey for five days through the South (Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee) to explore the influence of the Civil Rights Movement and the struggle for equality in America through a Jewish lens.
  • Twelfth Grade

    National Parks

    This five-day trip to Bryce and Zion National Parks in Utah provides 12th graders with opportunities for both personal growth and a culminating celebration in unique settings.
